The Fairfield's story is one of restoration, vision, and community. When the current owners first walked through the building, they weren't greeted by a thriving venue — they found a forgotten piece of Fort Wayne history. After years of sitting vacant, the once-grand building had fallen into disrepair. But beneath the dust and neglect, they saw something special.
During that first tour, a vision began to take shape: this could become one of Northeast Indiana's premier wedding and event destinations. From that moment, they knew they had to bring the historic building back to life.
What followed was a labor of love — preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original structure while reimagining it as a modern gathering place where people could celebrate life's biggest moments. Today, The Fairfield has become a destination for weddings, corporate events, dining, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences, all while honoring the building's remarkable past.

J.W. Kidd Building Constructed as home to J.W. Kidd and business partner W.M. Griffin, who operated a medical and agricultural mail-order company until a widely publicized scandal closed the business in 1915.

Boss Manufacturing The building found new life as home to Boss Manufacturing, producing gloves and mittens for distribution across the region.

General Electric General Electric utilized the space as a repair and distribution center throughout the decade.

Karen's Antique Mall From the 1980s through the early 2000s, the building served as the beloved Karen's Antique Mall — a Fort Wayne institution in its own right.

Meet the Owners
Nathan Newport
Nathan Newport is a Fort Wayne entrepreneur with a passion for revitalizing historic properties and creating spaces that bring people together. Alongside business partner David Beer, Nathan helped transform a vacant, century-old landmark into The Fairfield — a one-of-a-kind destination for weddings, dining, entertainment, and community events.
Guided by the belief that great spaces strengthen great communities, Nathan is committed to preserving Fort Wayne's history while creating experiences that will serve the city for generations to come. He often says The Fairfield wasn't something they set out to build — it was a project that "found them," and they've poured their hearts into bringing that vision to life.
David Beer
David Beer is a Fort Wayne entrepreneur dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences through thoughtful design, hospitality, and innovation. As co-founder of The Fairfield, David helped develop each level of the venue with a distinct purpose — from weddings and private events to golf simulators, duckpin bowling, dining, and entertainment.
His vision has always been to create a destination where families, friends, businesses, and visitors can gather under one roof. Together with Nathan, David has invested years into restoring one of Fort Wayne's historic buildings while building a venue that reflects the energy, pride, and future of the city they call home.
Nathan Newport and David Beer are lifelong Fort Wayne entrepreneurs who believe in investing in their hometown. What began as a simple tour of a neglected historic building quickly became a shared vision to restore an iconic landmark and create a destination unlike anything else in Northeast Indiana. After three years of planning, renovation, and collaboration, The Fairfield was born — a four-level venue that combines weddings, events, entertainment, dining, and hospitality under one roof. Their mission is simple: create a place where people gather, celebrate, and make lasting memories while preserving an important piece of Fort Wayne's history.
Meet Our General Manager
Nicole Campbell
Nicole Campbell serves as the General Manager of The Fairfield, bringing more than two decades of experience in hospitality, restaurant operations, event management, and business leadership. Throughout her career, she has developed a reputation for building high-performing teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and creating operational systems that drive long-term success.
As General Manager, Nicole oversees the day-to-day operations of The Fairfield's four-level entertainment and event destination, including restaurant operations, weddings, private events, catering, entertainment, guest services, and team development. She is passionate about creating a culture centered on hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Nicole has played a key role in developing The Fairfield's operating procedures, leadership training programs, marketing initiatives, and event strategies. She believes great hospitality is about more than serving guests — it's about creating memorable experiences, building lasting relationships, and making The Fairfield a place where the community comes together to celebrate life's biggest moments.
